True North Cycle Hub Supported schemes

Other Cycle to Work Schemes.

All employers will have registered with different cycle to work schemes, but they all operate on the same principal of salary sacrifice. The salary sacrifice enables the employees to use their gross pay to reimburse the employer for the cost of the bike. The gross pay is before tax, so the employee saves the tax and national insurance which would have been due on the amount sacrificed (32%, 42% or 47%)*. It also allows employees to spread the cost over monthly pay packets, making the purchase of a bike more affordable.

If you company has already registered with a cycle to work provider, check our list below to see which schemes we accept.

If your company hasn't yet set up, give us a call to discuss how easy it it to get the ball rolling. In some instances, we've had new companies on board and an employee taking their bike away the same day.

If you're a director of your own company, as long as you pay PAYE as a Director you will qualify. You may wish to consult your accountant for advice.

If you're self employed sadly, you will not be able to take part because your tax arrangements are different. You may be able to claim business use for the bike though, so again consult your accountant as to the best way to make a bike purchase.

In any instance, follow these quick steps and we'll have you set up with your new bike in no time.

We are unable to accept the Cycle to Work vouchers (from any scheme provider) on sale bikes, due to the commissions applied by the providers. These vary between 6 - 10% provider dependant, so give us a call to check prior to obtaining your voucher.

    • Step One; Quickly check the savings calculator to see what savings you can expect. You'll be surprised, and this may put a few more bike options within your budget.

  • Step Two; Check with your company to see which scheme they use, and any timescales they operate. Some employers only process vouchers once a month, others immediately. Check the process to obtain your voucher, some companyies will require a quotation from us, where as others are happy to simply allow you to apply for a value you require.

  • Step Two;Get in touch with us to discuss your requirements, if you've already seen a bike we have in stock and want to secure this, call or email us ASAP. We are happy to hold your bike for a short period of time if you don't have your voucher already, and you're waiting for this to be processed. If you're unsure what bike you're looking for, come on in. We're more than happy to go through options and avaialibility with you, to make sure you get the best bike for your needs.

  • Step Three; Once decided on your bike, either arrange to raise a voucher through your employer or provide details of your voucher and code for us to redeem funds for your bike. For bikes on pre-order, we will take the voucher but will not redeem the voucher and access the funds until your bike comes into stock. We ask that you send the voucher in once you have it so that we can ensure all paperwork is up to date in time for your bike arriving.

  • Step Four; Once the bike is available and we have your voucher we will arrange delivery or collection.

Green Commute Initiative is the industry-leading and award-winning Cycle to Work Scheme provider with no spend limits and no ownership fees. You can save from 32-47% (depending on your tax rate). Pay monthly through salary sacrifice with no added interest with payment periods ranging from 3 to 60 months. Get any type of cycle through GCI and help reduce congestion and pollution whilst improving your health, fitness and mental wellbeing. When more people cycle for short journeys, everyone wins.

No limits

One of the cool things about GCI is that you are not restricted by a capped limit of other cycle to work schemes. That’s right, no limits! How is this possible? Well, GCI is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Not into E-bikes?

No problem, you can get a normal bicycle through our scheme. You’ll still get all the scheme benefits, it’s just that you’ll have to work harder pedalling to work. But hey, that’s up to you!

Power away on E-bikes

But what’s so great about E-bikes? What’s not to love! You can sail over hills and cruise long distances, all because of the battery. This powers the bike, when you want it to, so whenever you feel cycling is taking too much effort, activate the power and away you go. We call it the E-bike smile. Once you’ve been on an E-bike, you’ll never look back.
